Cartoons to illustrate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

21 September 2018

The UN Human Rights Office together with the Cartoon Movement celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by launching a cartoon contest.

Cartoonists from all over the world submitted their illustration of one or various articles of the Declaration. Ultimately, two cartoons per article were selected for the voting by the public.

Look at the selection here and make your choice! The voting process is open until 20 October following the closing of the One Young World Summit in The Hague. Vote for the cartoons that best illustrate the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights!

  • I will respect your rights regardless of who you are. I will uphold your rights even when I disagree with you
  • When anyone’s human rights are denied, everyone's rights are undermined, so I will stand up
  • I will raise my voice. I will take action. I will use my rights to stand up for your rights.
