Women Photograph illustrate human rights through the lens of young women photojournalists

10 December 2019

This Human Rights Day (10 December), the award-winning organization Women Photograph and UN Human Rights have joined forces to showcase a selection of photos, taken by Women Photographers under the age of 27.

Wide-ranging issues – such as gender-based violence, labor, health, environment, and more – are poignantly captured by these young photojournalists. Visit our Instagram page daily until 31 December and take a look at their extraordinary photos.

Women Photograph was launched in 2017 to promote the work of women and non-binary photojournalists. UN Human Rights commends its efforts to promote gender equality, by helping female visual journalists address obstacles in photojournalism.

  • I will respect your rights regardless of who you are. I will uphold your rights even when I disagree with you
  • When anyone’s human rights are denied, everyone's rights are undermined, so I will stand up
  • I will raise my voice. I will take action. I will use my rights to stand up for your rights.
