Interview with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie : author, essayist, feminist

Chimanada Ngozi Adichie is one of the major writers of contemporary literature. Author of best-selling novels such as Purple Hibiscus, and Americanah, she is read and admired around the world. Her work has been translated into 30 languages and she has been invited to speak around the world. An excerpt from her essay from a TED conference “We should all be feminist” was famously sampled by Beyoncé.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and to mark International women’s day, Chimamanda shared her thoughts with the UN Human Rights Office, talking about her staunch support of women’s rights and what it would take for women to truly be equal in the world today.
